Sharp Gym

Seating Capacity: 1,000

The Frank and Lucille Sharp Physical Education Building was built in 1963. Later named Sharp Gymnasium, the facility serves as home to the Husky basketball and Husky volleyball teams. Sharp Gym has also served as the home away from home practice facility for the two-time NBA champion Houston Rockets and the four-time WNBA champion Houston Comets.

Water damage during the summer of 1994 forced HBU to replace the playing floor. Sharp Gymnasium now boasts one of the finest playing floors in the state of Texas. Further renovations included the replacement of bleachers, donated by the President’s Development Council.
